It feels like, at least for the extreme examples like c/2 and infinity, that there would be obvious differences in the apparent structure of the universe if this were true. Like if c was infinity when coming from some part of the sky, we ought to be able to see things that are infinitely far away in that direction, but in the other we'd only see half as far as expected. Unless I'm missing something this should constrain the effect of this asymmetry, if it were real, to something that still allows the universe to look roughly the same in all directions.
By far one of my most favorite videos from NileRed. I absolutely love the audacity to just go "fine, I'll do it myself" with this one
It a space ship so between one atmosphere and zero
I'm assuming vapes wouldn't have these radioactivity issues (me coping hard)
MCMASTER CARR IS THE KING
Check out the paratrooper flying with a bomb between his legs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Atomic_Demolition_Munition
Radiation pressure is not strictly true alone either. Yes it is a factor but you also have just run of the mil pressure adding a regulatory effect too. If the reaction rate and compression increased eg because gravity was slightly dominant at a given time both of these will increase core temp also. That will increase the run of the mill thermal pressure exerted by the hotter denser plasma in the core too. Ultimately this is kinda how stars especially large ones remain so stable while the dominant process driving their core is constant if fusion accelerates it causes an expansion in volume and reduction in pressure reducing fusion rate. Also explains a lot why stable is a relative term for stars they all have cycles of oscillation as the forces nudge it towards a balancing balancing point but it oscillates around it.
Nvm.. I gave up. This is unwatchable. Next time put some subtitle or something at least for the parts without sound
Wouldn't the opposite effect happen at the horizon of the white hole everything coming out actually being blue shifted towards infinity. As you get closer to leaving the white hole horizon do the gamma rays hitting you from behind get blue shifted to infinitely high energies. In theory surely the math predicts that too, reality may be different but this doesn’t sound great to volunteer trying either lol. Granted the probability if any of them actually being absorbed by your body would probably also tend towards zero but I would not like to see what photons with unlimited energy do I suspect nothing great biologically happens.
You would absolutely survive entering the swartzchild radius of sagittarius A* in a single person craft at least probably your lack of supplies might get you first. You are still 12,000,000 km away at that point and the tidal forces across the entirety of a 2 metre body would be like 1.3 mN. The smallest joints of your fingers individually support more tension than that to cancel the 9.81 mN per gram force pulling your fingertips down to the ground if you simply stand still on the surface of Earth. The tensile limits of even the small joints are far than would be spread across the entire body combined here. Granted not only the joints would be experiencing it but they are the weakest points against tensile stresses like this. The initial injuries expected from venturing close to a smaller one medically would be dislocation of limbs particularly the long limbs of the legs and arms where the gradient across them would be concentrated on the tendons that handle tensile stress applied along the limb and transfer that force to the rest of the skeletal support.
In theory it should be survivable based on current known physics buy everything becomes entirely theoretical at that point we have no evidence whatsoever that our theories remain valid under these conditions so good luck to anyone trying it I'll not be volunteering ngl.
Before you got a break when you smoked, now no one gets breaks.
It’s the Cambrian explosion
Having enough chemistry knowledge to have made home made glow lights myself the liquid itself is not the best stuff to have lying around. Most formulations definately qualify as irritants and are capable of causing inflammation on contact with human tissue of the skin, eyes, nose, mouth, or throat. Other than that pretty harmless, good idea to wear gloves etc while clearing it up but it's not going to kill you or harm you at all if you take even the most basic of precautions.
That last one is also offensive in thinking that a tribe living in a jungle full of various poisons wouldn't be able to very quickly figure out this thing is making their people sick. Turns out humans are pretty reasonable at observing the visible consequences of actions and inferring that maybe try not doing the same things that made other tribe members sick over and over again.
Please do nit lie about coal power plant. They are safe and clear
This guy’s a helluva engineer to fact-check Mr. Munroe. #THWG
Photonic induction is a great channel for all things electrical which mostly ends in destructive testing
reaction videos are the lowest form of youtube content
bro really did the 🤓☝️ (loving the vid)
No,robert peabody had 100 sievers as the most radioactive human in the world, died 39hours later
Would love your take on the Natural Nuclear reactor at Oklo Gabon
I would imagine trying to stay above water with a breather hole in your skull would be difficult.
Goofy idea to Wear a vest with water.😊
Everywhere but in US the comma is the decimal separator and the dot is the thousands separator
By "hottest" fuel do you mean the temperature or the radioactivity level?
Interesting and informative.
Tyler i got a question Do you know any good colleges/universites for nuclear engineering degrees?
So how does the sub reactor evaporative cooling work? Is it basically phase change heat pipes ?
The moonlight towers that remain have been updated to LEDs now 👍
At the all time high nuclear provided less than 10% of germanys energy demand. Nuclear is quite irrelevant for us, so i dint get the point of the discussion. The year after shutting down our nuclear power plants the production of electricity from coal hit its lowest point since the 60ies.
Sub commander Ralathor disliked this
2:50 giggity
😂❤
The belief is that everyone is each other because we’re all the same incarnation of the same person and we are all that same person
I dont smoke. I breathe air.
Oh……
The Apollo spacecraft constantly rotated to disperse heat from the sun light.
I read in the book "the secret that exploded" that the guy using the blocks was supposed to have used 1/8th blocks, 1/half blocks and full blocks of reflector. he was supposed to build the reflector with the 1/8ths slowly checking each time on criticality until he had a 1/2 block which he would then replace the 4 1/8th blocks with a half and build up the rest of the block then replace the 4 8ths and 1 half with a whole. i also read the guy didnt do this and began using full blocks each step and slowly loweing the block into place and stopping when criticality got higher. Sad to see the next guy just kept doing the experiment in an almost equally dangerous way with a freaking screwdriver.
So how fast will data being backup in big company
Watch our sun, throw us a pipe wrench in the Gears, that run everyday life. Watch it, surprise us. Watch It. Do something spectacular and devastating. But the odds of this happening are incredibly slim
Entropy aint what it used to be.
So re: developing to nuclear first, before petroleum, I think the overall ecological impact would be far stronger, in terms of contamination. We're fortunate that we developed nuclear power when we did, in an era where we had experience with managing logistics networks, creating and maintaining precision parts, and a robust history of correcting for industrial disasters. I think of what might happen if you had a nuclear power plant running during the era of disasters like the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, the Collinwood School fire, Chillwell Munitions... I mean each taught us things about materials, fire safety, process design, human factors, etc. that make our modern nuclear power system so safe.
“That’s gotta be a meme” Me: yep.. yep it is…
7:40 that my friend, is called proof by calculator

I'm only a barista but I was thinking. What'd if this was done in a vacuum. Do you think it will pull the air bubbles out. The things that make it crack on cooling.
17:21 it's only available in pre 1990s Coleman lantern mantels. After that they switched to yttrium. (instead of thorium)
even with the most recent extreme magnetic storms, it was enough warning to take radio towers offline
